the water industry has a truth problem.
We started Latent to fix it.
The problem
For decades, the home water industry has worked the same way. A salesperson knocks on your door. They tell you your water is dangerous, your family is at risk, and you should sign tonight. They hide the prices. They pressure you into thousands of dollars of equipment before you understand what's actually happening in your pipes.
Some companies have built billion-dollar businesses on this playbook. They have lobbyists. They have lawyers. They have nationwide installer networks.
What they don't have is your trust.
The mission
Latent exists because someone needs to do this differently.
We believe water is wellness — as fundamental as the air you breathe, the food you eat, the sleep you get. You've taken care of those things. You filter your air, you read your supplement labels, you check your sleep score. But the water that runs through your kitchen tap, your shower, your washing machine, your body — most homeowners have never tested it.
That's the gap we're closing. The word “latent” means present but hidden, not yet revealed. That's exactly what's in your water until someone measures it.
How we're different
We don't sell water filters. Not yet, and maybe never directly. What we do is measure your water with real lab-grade instruments, walk you through the results, and tell you honestly what we'd do if it were our home.
Sometimes the answer is filtration. Sometimes it's nothing. We tell you which, and we mean it.
If filtration is the right call, we'll connect you with a trusted installer in your area. We earn a small referral if you decide to move forward — that's how the business works. But the test, the report, and the truth are yours either way.
Why Phoenix
We started in Phoenix because Phoenix has some of the hardest water in America. Most homeowners here don't know that. The water is EPA-safe, so nobody talks about it. But your dishwasher does, and your skin does, and your appliances quietly fail two to three times faster than they should.
We live here. We tested our own water. We were annoyed by what we found. Latent is what we built next.
“We don't sell water filters. We measure your water, tell you the truth, and let you decide.”
